Controller

Lawelawe Management Group is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial activities and manage the accounting function. This role is critical in driving financial integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
This is a consulting opportunity. Work is structured around specific client projects, with assignments that may range from short-term surge support to longer-term initiatives, depending on client requirements and needs.
What You’ll Do
- Manage financial operations with oversight of payroll, financial statements, budgets, and tax compliance
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures
- Create budgets and forecasts to guide the company’s financial strategy
- Analyze financial data to assess company health and advise leadership
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
- Coordinate and support external auditor activities
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred)
- Significant professional experience in accounting and finance leadership roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP, compliance requirements, and financial regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint a plus)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- US Citizenship required
