Staff Accountant

Lawelawe Management Group is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our finance operations. This role is key in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing reliable reporting that supports business decision-making.
This is a consulting opportunity. Work is structured around specific client projects, with assignments that may range from short-term surge support to longer-term initiatives, depending on client requirements and needs.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
- Support yearly audit preparation and financial management reports
- Verify documentation, postings, and reconcile payroll to the general ledger
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations and advise management on new requirements
- Keep management informed of financial status and developments
What We’re Looking For
- Professional experience in accounting or finance (public or corporate)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint a plus)
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- US Citizenship required
